Natural terracotta tumbler handcrafted in Portugal using ancestral methods, yet simplified in form and free from folkloric ornaments. This tumbler is perfect for tea, a large morning coffee, or fresh fruit juice

Here, the terracotta is glazed, which prevents the absorption of fats and liquids, making the tableware healthier, easier to clean, and more resistant to stains.

The use of local clay from Alentejo and the entirely handmade production in a century-old workshop ensure the ethical and eco-friendly nature of this piece.

Why I love it

  • Simple shapes with a clean, minimalist design.
  • The glazing makes terracotta healthier and easier to use.
  • Handcrafted, ethical, and eco-friendly production.

More informations?

When you choose a piece from this remarkable collection, you are privileged to own an object in red clay, shaped by the hands of José Alves, one of the last potters still using local terracotta.

This family pottery business, rooted in his great-great-grandfather’s time, remains in the same place today. "I thought the continuity of our craft was at risk, but one of my daughters came to lend me a hand..." he recalls with emotion.

Red clay, known as "Olaria de barro vermelho," is particularly well-suited to functional tableware and is especially famous for cooking stews: "In a terracotta pot, the meat becomes incredibly tender," says José Alves, testifying to his expertise and love for his craft.
