Entirely handcrafted in Portugal, this reed bag reflects a demanding artisanal expertise, carefully passed down through generations. Each piece is woven, assembled and finished by hand, then protected with a subtle varnish that enhances its durability while preserving the natural beauty of the material.

Designed for real, everyday use, it offers true versatility: a round handle for hand carry and a removable shoulder strap for greater freedom. The magnetic closure, discreetly hidden beneath an elegant leather buckle, keeps your essentials secure while maintaining a clean, refined silhouette. Protective studs ensure stability and durability, even when placed on the ground.

Each bag reveals subtle variations in the weave and tone of the reed. These irregularities are not imperfections, but the hallmark of authentic craftsmanship, making every piece truly unique.

    More informations?

These bags are crafted by the elder artisans of the village of Castanheira, near Alcobaça, brought together under the initiative of Nuno Barreiro, a native of the village. A truly authentic story.

The reed grows wild in the region — no fertilizers, no pesticides — only careful harvesting is required.

    Reed cultivation

Sorting, drying — everything is done manually and locally: no transport, no chemicals, no machines.

Weaving: at this stage too, everything remains local. The artisans share a workshop and take turns to fulfill orders.

Assembly, finishing and quality control: no bag leaves the workshop without being carefully inspected by the most experienced craftsmen.
