Once used to wash clothes, blue soap was reintroduced in all Portuguese households thanks to its ability in fighting the spread of influenza A in 2009. It is, in fact, an excellent soap with natural antiseptic properties.
Today, it is again widely used as a hand sanitizer but also for whole-body washing because it is very anti-allergic. Blue soap is made with vegetable fats, coconut oil and olive oil.
