This piece comes from a small workshop located in the Central West of Portugal, in the Estremadura province. Its design is characteristic of what is known as Caldas da Rainha ceramics, with Bordallo Pinheiro being the most famous author of this style.
The molds used in this workshop are passed down through generations, and the current owner still uses his grandfather's molds. All the pieces are carefully handcrafted, and production is very limited.
