Carbon Neutral Program

Following the recommendations of the IPCC report, the Paris agreements commit all stakeholders to reduce CO2 emissions immediately, with a goal of zero net emissions by 2050.

The Luisa Paixão online store is therefore committed to reducing its environmental footprint now.

This commitment takes the form of a series of quick actions to implement, with concrete and immediate results. It will be followed by a carbon assessment of the company as well as a global action plan aiming at reaching carbon neutrality as soon as possible.

You will discover here, as they are implemented, all our actions aimed at reducing our environmental footprint and offsetting the climate impact of our activity.

Carbon neutral shipments

The transportation of your package from our warehouse to its destination is carbon neutral. We fully offset the carbon emissions associated with the transportation of your order.

For every ton of CO2 produced by the transportation of our packages, an equivalent amount is saved in a CO2 reduction project that we fund.

In other words, with each order we pay an additional amount that goes directly to CO2 reduction projects.

The carbon neutrality of the transport of our parcels is verified by the Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS) and the carbon offset projects are certified by "The CarbonNeutral Company".

For your information, the 2 main projects that we contribute to finance are

  • Wolfcreek: A project that captures methane emissions from landfills to generate electricity. This project is located in Georgia, USA.

"The Wolf Creek Landfill has a 2,800-kilowatt landfill gas-to-energy facility that provides significant environmental benefits to the surrounding areas by voluntarily capturing the landfill gas produced by the facility and using it as a fuel to generate green energy. The environmental benefits are equivalent to removing 22,700 passenger vehicles from the region's highways, while providing electricity to power 1,650 homes."

    • Chol Charoen : Project that captures the emissions released by wastewater to produce electricity. This project is located in Thailand.

"At the Chol Charoen wastewater treatment plant in Cholburi, Thailand. Biogas from wastewater produced by tapioca starch production is captured to generate heat and electricity for the plant and the national grid. This project reduces emissions by 28,000 tons per year."

    Eco-friendly packaging material

The protection, essential, of the objects you order requires the use of packing material such as: bubble wrap, paper wedges, separators, cardboard boxes...

For maximum protection, we only use new double or triple thickness cardboard boxes and only select materials made from more than 50% recycled materials.

Our cardboards, manufactured in Europe, are made of a minimum of 70% recycled cardboard and are themselves recyclable to promote the circular economy.

In the same way, our bubble wrap, recognizable by its green color, is made of a minimum of 50% recycled materials and is itself recyclable.

All our packaging waste is sorted, collected separately and inserted into the recycling channels.
