More informations ?

By selecting an item from this extraordinary collection, you will be privileged to own an object crafted from red clay, skillfully shaped by the hands of José Alves, one of the few remaining potters who have mastered the art of wheel pottery.

This family-run pottery business, tracing its roots back to José's great-great-grandfather, still thrives within these very premises. "I feared for the continuity of our trade, but one of my daughters came to my aid, infusing a touch of innovation with her artistic paintings on our creations" he recalls with heartfelt emotion.

The red clay, renowned as the "Olaria de barro vermelho," is exceptionally well-suited for producing functional tableware and is even used to prepare magnificent stews. "In a clay pot, the meat becomes exquisitely tender" chuckles José Alves, showcasing his expertise and passion for his craft.
